Are you searching for a way to take years off your appearance without incisions and lengthy downtime? A noninvasive laser skin treatment such as Fraxel Dual may be the ideal solution to help you reveal smoother, younger-looking skin.
But with so many cosmetic laser treatments available today, why choose Fraxel? Let’s hone in on the benefits of Fraxel dual laser, why it is such a frequently requested treatment, and how it can naturally rejuvenate your skin—no surgery necessary!
Fraxel Dual harnesses the power of fractional laser technology to target various common skin concerns, such as wrinkles, acne scars, pigmentation, and sun damage. During treatment, microscopic laser columns penetrate and heat damaged skin while triggering your body’s collagen production.
The beams are broken into fractions, so treatment is highly targeted to damaged areas while surrounding skin tissue is left unharmed. This approach results in rapid healing and recovery. Patients regain their healthy glow as healthy skin cells develop from the inside out.
Where do we start?! Fraxel improves your skin’s tone and texture by leveraging the skin’s natural healing process to produce healthy new skin cells. Patients see smoother, firmer skin quickly and with minimal downtime. Men and women who benefit the most from Fraxel treatments typically want to address the following concerns:
Each Fraxel treatment is highly customized to address your specific concerns. First, we apply a topical anesthetic to minimize any discomfort. Bonus: the laser also has a cooling feature to enhance your comfort. As the laser passes over your skin, you may experience a warming sensation with mild prickling.
Typically, we’ll perform up to 8 laser passes during a single session to achieve your desired results. We may also suggest enhancing your results by combining Fraxel laser with other skin rejuvenation treatments, such as IPL photofacial or microneedling.
Some downtime is required after your Fraxel laser session. However, your recovery and downtime will depend on the intensity of your treatment. Most Fraxel Dual patients only experience a week (or less) of downtime.
As you heal, you may experience some mild redness and swelling that feels like a sunburn, along with some flaking and peeling. Your complexion will gradually appear softer, firmer, and even-toned as fresh skin emerges. You will continue to see improvements over 3 to 6 months as collagen builds and the skin naturally rejuvenates.
The following tips can help your Fraxel recovery process:
Many patients start to see improvement in a single treatment. However, we typically recommend 1 to 2 treatments for patients combatting pigmentation and 2 to 3 treatments for men and women using Fraxel for acne scars and wrinkles. Your sessions are usually spaced 6 weeks apart to give your skin time to heal and rebuild. If you practice a healthy skincare routine and wear sunscreen, your Fraxel laser results can last for years!
