How Does Profound RF Microneedling Work?

The Profound RF microneedling device uses radiofrequency technology along with microneedles for an enhanced approach to traditional microneedling. The device delivers temperature-controlled radiofrequency energy through microneedles to stimulate the production of elastin, collagen, and hyaluronic acid. These are the building blocks of the skin.

As we age, the production of these building blocks slows, causing a loss of volume along with the formation of wrinkles and lines. RF microneedling penetrates the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate the body’s natural regenerative response, resulting in a younger-looking appearance.

What Does Profound RF Microneedling Treat?

What to Expect During a Profound RF Microneedling Treatment

Dr. Krathen begins by administering a local anesthetic to keep you comfortable during your treatment. He then passes the Profound device over your targeted area, allowing the needles to penetrate your skin. Treatments typically only take about 45 minutes right in our office, and most people only need a single session to see impressive results.

What Is Profound RF Microneedling Recovery Like?

You may notice some redness, swelling, and minor bruising for a few days after your appointment. Some people choose to take a couple of days away from work to allow this to subside. It’s normal to experience some soreness and numbness for 1 to 2 weeks as well.

When Will I See My Profound RF Microneedling Results?

You may start to notice improvements as soon as 2 weeks after your treatment, but most people see their best results after a few months as collagen production increases. With proper sun protection and skin care, you’ll enjoy tighter, smoother, younger-looking skin for months and even years.
