The International Peeling Society Event at Essential Dermatology

Medium and Deep Chemical Peels, With Blepharopeel

Medium and deep chemical peels reduce fine lines and age spots. At our Natick location, we are performing a hands-on workshop for the International Peels Society (IPS). Faculty members from all across the United States will teach and guide a small cohort of board-certified US Dermatologists on chemical peeling techniques through hands-on training.

We are seeking volunteers for medium- and deep-chemical peels, including Hetter’s peels/Segmental Phenol-Croton oil peels, Solid CO2/TCA and Jessner/TCA peels, TCA-CROSS peeling for acne scarring, and Blepharopeels (snipping upper eyelid skin).

Volunteers are expected to commit to a 2-3 hour window on November 15, 2024, and a 1-2 hour window on November 16, 2024. Additionally, volunteers are expected to return at four weeks and three months post-peel for marketable before and after photos (to be used for marketing and educational purposes). The treatment for the peels is no charge. If there are any undesirable secondary effects of the peel (infection, scarring), then future treatments for this will either be charged to a patient’s insurance and/or paid out-of-pocket (patient responsibility).

Regarding recovery, for medium- and deep-chemical peels, patients should expect downtime of up to 14 days, with significant pink/redness lasting several months. Post-treatment hyperpigmentation (unwanted brown discoloration) may last months as well and require additional treatment/peels/bleaching creams.
