Many patients visiting Essential Dermatology want clear, beautiful skin. Natick, Marlborough, and Needham, Massachusetts men and women considering their options for skin rejuvenation will want to consider the advantages of treatments such as the Lumenis UltraPulse, a CO2 laser device designed to transform the skin in as little as one treatment. Let’s look at some frequently asked questions about this laser face treatment and how it works to improve skin health and clarity!
Michael Krathen, our board-certified dermatologist, describes the Lumenis UltraPulse as the “gold standard” in laser skin resurfacing. This advanced device uses pulses of light energy to precisely target and address specific areas of the skin while leaving surrounding tissues unharmed.
A variety of skin issues, such as sun damage, acne scars, uneven texture and tone, fine lines and wrinkles, and even precancerous lesions, can be improved with the Lumenis UltraPulse CO2 laser therapy. By promoting the formation of collagen, it is also utilized to enhance the general health of the skin.
During a Lumenis UltraPulse session at Essential Dermatology, our experienced providers will apply a numbing cream to ensure your comfort. Then, the laser handpiece will be gently guided over the treatment area, delivering controlled bursts of energy that target damaged skin cells and stimulate collagen production. This results in smoother, firmer, and brighter skin.
Some patients might experience mild redness and swelling immediately after treatment, which typically subsides within a few days. Your doctor at Essential Dermatology provides specific aftercare instructions to help you achieve optimal results and minimize any potential side effects.
Many of our local patients see significant improvements after just one Lumenis UltraPulse session. However, treatments performed regularly will provide lasting changes overall. We recommend treatments spaced weeks apart over time to address stubborn imperfections or problems with the skin that might require more than one facial session.
